What is FGTS?

The Service Time Guarantee Fund (FGTS) is made up of employers' deposits, at the beginning of each month, in the amount of 8% of each employee's salary.

It was created with the aim of protecting workers who are unfairly dismissed, creating a cash reserve for the worker in case of an emergency.

Every formal worker governed by the CLT is entitled to the FGTS, including rural, domestic, temporary, intermittent and casual workers.

FGTS

The FGTS is made up of the balances of linked accounts, as well as other resources incorporated into it, and must be applied with monetary adjustment and interest, in order to ensure coverage of its obligations.

In the event of contract termination, the employee may withdraw the severance pay from their linked account. There is also the option of Anniversary Withdrawal, which allows the withdrawal of part of the FGTS account balance annually, in the month of their anniversary.
